COLOUR CORRECTING for Acne & Scars | Video

Yesterday I uploaded tutorial on YouTube (scroll down to watch it) on how to cover acne and acne scars (without your face looking cakey) with the help of colour correcting and I really wanted to also review some of the products that I am using in the video in case some of you want to know more.

The first product that I used in the video is this great primer by Makeup Forever, which for me is a  brilliant and very smart product! It's liquid and it has lightweight texture that makes it perfect to use on large area of redness or even if you want all over your face. What do I mean? I will give you an example that will help you understand better the use of it. Let's say that you have spent all day on the beach and now your face is red or you might have acne only on your forehead, in that case if you apply concealer on such a large area it will feel and look very heavy and for sure it will start creasing. This is when this primer comes very handy and honestly speaking I am surprised that not many makeup brands have similar product. Anyway, it also lasts very long because a little goes a long way and since the texture is great you are able to use another primer before or after this one and if you watch my makeup tutorial on the bottom of this post you will see that that's exactly what I've done.

green concealer

The second product is a green concealer by Max Factor, which I received complimentary from the brand and Influenster Middle East few months ago. I really liked it and I've been using it on me and on my clients ever since. It's super easy to apply because you don't need brush or anything and you don't have to sharp it, you simply twist that black part on the other side and more product will come. I also love the texture, it's not greasy like some of the color correctors/concealers and the colour is not too bright green, which makes it easier to be covered with foundation or concealer. I have to add that it's also easy to blend. Overall, I think that it's a great product on affordable price that can be very useful. If you don't know what is green concealer for and what does a color corrector do scroll down to watch my tutorial and you will also see how I am using the CC Colour Corrector by Max Factor.

peach color corrector

The 3rd product that I used in the tutorial is this peach color corrector by Bobbi Brown. I actually bought it for my dark circles under the eyes but it didn't work that good for them so I decided to use it for my dark spots instead and now when I look at it I think that it's a bit greasy for the eye area anyway. There's not much that I can say about this product to be fair with you. I can't remember how much exactly I paid for it but it was for sure quite pricy. It also finished quickly. For comparison, I have orange concealer by MAC (which I will review very soon) that is the same size, I use it almost every day and I still have plenty product there, while this one I've barely used and you can see on the picture that I've already hit the pan. Anyway, the colour is quite good, works well for my dark spots and it lasts long on the face, so I would probably rate it 5 of 10.
