How to Get Rid of Blackheads at Home? | Video

If you've been on Instagram at least once then you've probably noticed the amount of beauty DIY and makeup videos. Ladies use weird objects like heels, knives and forks to contour their faces and spoons to define their eyebrows, they apply aloe vera, honey and baking soda on their hair and faces. I'm not judging anyone, I also post beauty videos on Instagram but every time when I see that kind of video I'm wondering does this actually work or some people are only interested in the likes and followers? That's why I decided to start trying these hacks and DIYs at home and let you know what I think! This week I tried a very famous in the social media DIY blackhead remover from only two ingredients - gelatine and cow milk.

The mask is super easy to make, you only mix 1 tbsp gelatine with 2 tbsp milk (it can be any milk, not only cow milk) and then you put it in the microwave for 15 seconds. I expected that the texture will be very thick but it was actually liquidy so I waited about 5 minutes before applying it. I used a brush by Sephora especially for applying face masks, but you can use your fingers as well, just make sure that the mask isn't too hot. It took about 30 minutes for the mask to dry completely and then the fun part comes - the peeling of the mask. I don't know if you've noticed on the video but I struggle to peel it. The texture is very sticky and it takes some time to be removed completely. An advise from me - don't apply it all over your face the way they do it on Instagram and YouTube. This mask is suitable only for certain parts of the face like the nose and maybe the forehead. The skin near my eye was a little bit red after that so be cautious because you might hurt yourself.

Let's talk about the results, it was hard to film a before and after because my camera doesn't catch small details so I took pictures. I think that it was okay, it cleaned my pores a little but I wouldn't say that it's amazing. I don't know if it's worth the difficult peeling, I guess I need to try more DIY masks for blackheads so I can judge better. If you try it at home, please let me know what do you think.

Hope that was helpful xx
