Another Personal Post: Our Walima

Last week was our anniversary and on the same day I shared with you some pictures from our wedding day here. This morning I realised that three years ago today we were celebrating our walima (if you don't know what does that mean, here's how wikipedia explains it: Walima is the marriage banquet, the second of the two traditional parts of an Islamic wedding. The walima is performed after the nikah or marriage ceremony). Since my husband is British-Pakistani I was wearing traditional Pakistani clothes and jewellery which my mother-in-law bought for me from Pakistan and brought them all the way to London herself. I didn't really have time to do my makeup properly and was also very tired from all the preparations, travelling and fuss around the marriage, so decided to keep it simple - black smokey eye and red lipstick to match the dress lol. One thing that I didn't like at all was the foundation that I was wearing on the event. I made the stupid mistake to buy it the day before and I only tried it in the store. It turned out that after few hours it gets dry and looks cake-y. It's a shame that I spent ยฃ30+ for a such bad product that I never used again. If I have to pick one favourite thing from my look, I would probably say the nails and the dress โค๏ธ But anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures xx
